St. Marys Area Water Authority receives $150,000 from WPEF to support hydropower installation

This system will generate approximately 18,000 watts of clean, renewable electricity to offset the operational costs and improve energy resilience at the Water Treatment Plant.  This installation is estimated to offset five percent of the Plant’s current electric bill.  Similar installations located around the country have found the units to operate for decades with little or no maintenance required.
