First International Conference on Drawdown
The term “drawdown” is the point at which concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere begin to steadily decline, with the goal of ultimately reversing global warming. Project Drawdown partnered with Penn State on September 16-18, 2019 in State College, PA to organize and host First International Conference on Drawdown. The three-day international conference focused on analysis and peer review of the portfolio of over 100 individual solutions, discussed synergies and interactions among sectors and evaluated implementation pathways including successful examples from around the world. WPPSEF provided a Silver-level conference sponsorship to the Drawdown conference. Facilitating ideas and discussion among organizations and scientific experts, learning about Drawdown technologies and projects, and evaluating implementation pathways from around the world was at the heart of the Project Drawdown conference.
