Centre County Corrections Solar Farm

The Centre County Correctional Facility located near Bellefonte, PA installed a 1.197 MWdc bifacial panel solar farm in late 2020.  The six-acre solar farm was designed and developed by Solar Renewable Energy, LLC (SRE) of Mechanicsburg, PA and installed by the MVE Group in Ephrata, PA.  The project used a total of 3,150 bifacial 380W solar panels that have a dual (front and back) generation capability. The project was designed to offset nearly 100% provide the Centre County Correctional Facility annual electric usage.  WPPSEF worked with the Centre County government and SRE to in the later stages of the solar farm construction to provide additional funding to offset a portion of the bifacial panels purchase for the solar array.
